As a not-for-profit, member-owned health insurer, we put people before profits. Our focus on affordability has resulted in premium rate increases lower than the industry average for 14 of the past 20 years.
And we pay back an average 90c in every dollar we receive in premium revenue in claims for our members.

Care for members
Not only do we want to make sure you’re getting the right coverage at the right price, we provide extra support for our members when times are tough.
Mindful of the financial stresses of the pandemic, Latrobe Health’s 2020 scheduled 1 April 2020 rate rise was deferred for six months, until 1 October 2020.
Latrobe also put in place measures to support members facing extra financial stresses, including 12 month deferrals on rate rises, suspensions for members facing hardship and cover for Coronavirus-related hospital admissions, no matter what level of hospital cover you are on.
All up our financial relief package for members totalled $8M and included access to telehealth consultations and a rollover on extras benefits.
Giving back to the community
We give back to community, improving access to the health services and contributing to the wellbeing of communities in which our members live.
In 2020 we donated $1M to local family violence and mental health services and $75,000 to fire-affected communities in East Gippsland in Victoria.
As a means of ensuring the health of local communities, we have supported the establishment of two general practitioner clinics.
We built Maryvale Private Hospital 30 years ago, demonstrating our commitment and vision of ensuring regional communities have access to health care services.
