If an accident occurs and you seek treatment at an emergency department or from a doctor within 72 hours of the accident, Accident Advantage provides you with top-tier coverage for related treatments that would normally be excluded or restricted on your policy for up to 90 days.

When you use Latrobe Health’s Accident Advantage benefit, you won't incur an excess for your admission.

How Accident Advantage protects you

✔ No excess worries. Submit the Accident Advantage form within 21 days of your accident, and we'll waive your hospital excess. It's one less thing to worry about during your recovery.

✔ Extended treatment window. Need follow-up care? You're covered for related hospital admissions up to 90 days after your accident.

How to use Accident Advantage

If you experience an accident:

1. Seek prompt medical attention within 72 hours from a doctor or emergency department.
2. Inform hospital staff that you have Latrobe Health cover with Accident Advantage.
3. Have your treating health provider complete the Accident Advantage Form and submit it to Latrobe Health within 21 days of the accident. 

Accident Advantage Eligibility

• You must seek treatment from a doctor or emergency department within 72 hours of the accident occurring. 
• Any related hospital admission must occur within 90 days from the date of injury.
• You must submit an Accident Advantage Form to Latrobe Health within 21 days of the accident occurring. 

The Definition of an Accident

An accident means an unplanned, unintentional, and unexpected event, occurring by chance and caused by external force or object resulting in a physical injury requiring immediate treatment. This does not include any illness, an injury or condition resulting from any complications of treatment or surgery, any injury or condition resulting from the effects of alcohol or drugs of addiction, pregnancy, or the aggravation of an existing physical injury or condition.
