Latrobe Health Services has received two Finder health insurance awards for its extras cover.

As part of Finder's 2024 Health Insurance Awards, Latrobe Health Services emerged as the winner in the Comprehensive Extras category and earned a highly commended award in the Core Extras category for the second year in a row.

To determine the winners, Finder meticulously analysed over 400 policies, assessing them based on cost and features.

The extras cover awards were categorised into three tiers: core, medium, and comprehensive.

Latrobe Health Services - Core Complete Extras  Package

Latrobe Health's Core Complete Extras Package stood out in the comprehensive extras category for its extensive coverage at a competitive price. 

This comprehensive policy encompasses a wide range of treatments, including general dental, major dental, orthodontics, optical, nutrition, psychology, audiology, speech therapy, and health appliances like blood glucose monitors and hearing aids. It also includes unlimited emergency ambulance transportation.

Latrobe Health Services - Basic Extras

Latrobe Health's Basic Extras cover also earned recognition in Finder’s Core Extras category. Prices start from around $4.20 per week for a single individual.

This policy includes general dental, major dental, optical, physio and benefits for travel vaccinations. It also covers unlimited emergency ambulance transportation.

More about the Finder Awards 

To qualify for the Finder Awards, each extras insurance policy had to meet strict eligibility criteria, which included:
● The policy must be available for new policyholders
● An insurer may only claim one place in the final winners' list in this category
● The product must not be from a restricted fund
● The product must be approved by the Commonwealth Ombudsman
● Funds must have at least 0.5% national market share, according to the Commonwealth Ombudsman
● The product must be classed at the appropriate tier for the awards (Comprehensive/Medium/Core)
