After a year off, the Gippsland Business Awards are returning in 2021 – with a new award sponsored by Latrobe Health Services recognising business agility.

The award seeks to highlight businesses who rose to the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Business Agility Award will be presented to the enterprise judged to have pivoted and responded best to the pandemic and the constantly changing operating environment.

Award finalists were announced this week. Congratulations to all the finalists across all categories and the Business Agility Award finalists in particular - Amity Alice Warragul, Big Bears Donuts Lakes Entrance, Embrace Fitness and Wellbeing Morwell, FGM Consultants Warragul, Scarlet and Grace Sale and The Cape Kitchen Newhaven.

Gippsland Business Awards winners - judged across 12 categories plus the Gippsland Business of the Year – will be announced at a gala dinner on 27 August.

Latrobe Health Services Chief Executive Officer Ian Whitehead said the new award would showcase business resilience.

“The pandemic has shown us all that to remain viable we must be able to flex and adapt in a business environment that is changing more rapidly than ever before,” Mr Whitehead said.

“The efforts of these businesses to remain viable and keep their people in jobs has contributed to the overall wellbeing of the Gippsland community for the past 12 months plus.

“It’s our honour to sponsor this category and to pay homage to the contribution these businesses have made to community wellbeing throughout this pandemic.”

Mr Whitehead said the award sponsorship demonstrated Latrobe Health Services’ commitment to supporting the Gippsland community.
