Almost 4,000 members who have opted to add an ambulance subscription to their Latrobe Health extras cover will receive their annual benefit in coming weeks.

The benefit amount - which ranges from $22 to $48 for a single, or from $44 to $96 for a family, depending on the level of cover - will be paid direct to eligible members who have provided us with their bank account details.

For members eligible for the benefit whose bank details are not on record, we’ll write to you to let you know how to claim your benefit.

Who is eligible to receive the payment?

Members having added an ambulance subscription to their health cover are eligible to receive a benefit from 1 October of each year if they:

  • Have held ambulance cover since 1 April; and
  • Have held extras cover for two months.

When will the payment be made?

For those members whose bank details are already on record with Latrobe, we’ll pay the benefit directly into your nominated bank account between 27 and 29 October.

Where we need further information from you, we’ll pay the benefit amount within seven days of receiving that information from you.

How do I know if I am eligible to receive the ambulance benefit?

We’ll write to you.

If we have your bank details, we’ll advise you via SMS or email that the amount has been put directly into your account – if this is your situation you don’t need to do anything further.

If we don’t hold your banking details, we’ll write to you for further information. As we no longer pay benefits in cash or cheques, you should complete the paperwork you receive and send it back to us so we can make the payment to you.
